Juno Award winning prog metallers Anciients return to the UK in support of their latest record, with support from Tayne, Savini and Vexmantra.
Anciients are back at The Joiners on Tuesday 6 October, their first UK date since their last record. The Vancouver-based progressive sludge metal outfit are touring that new album, so the set will be built around it.
They're known for a particular kind of heavy: complex dual-guitar riffs, deep grooves, and songwriting that doesn't always follow the easiest path. It's sludge at its core, but with a progressive streak that keeps the songs shifting rather than just grinding along. If you've followed them, you'll know that's where they sit — somewhere between the weight of the sludge scene and a more intricate, composed approach to the riffs.
They're not coming alone, either. The bill has three support acts: Tayne, Savini, and Vexmantra, so there's plenty on before the headliners take over. With four bands in one night, it's a full run of live music rather than just a single set.
