Alfie Moore: Acopalypse Now

Alfie Moore brings his stand-up show Acopalypse Now to The Attic on Friday 24 July, part of a tour of warm-up dates before he records Series 10 of It's A Fair Cop, the BBC Radio 4 comedy he stars in. Moore is a copper-turned-comedian, and that background is exactly where the show gets its legs. He spends the night swearing in the audience as police officers and putting a brand new, real-life scenario from his own casebook to them, challenging the room to say what they would have done in his shoes. The results are often unexpected and entertaining, and because the responses come from the people in the room, every show ends up unique.

It's a good way to see how the new material is taking shape before it's recorded for the radio. The reviews have been kind: You Magazine called it 'offbeat, revealing and very funny', and David Mitchell described it as 'brilliantly funny, genuinely hilarious'. The Times put his charisma as 'as bright and colourful as a twirling blue light'.

On the practical side, the bar opens at 4pm, doors at 4.15pm, and the show starts around 4.45pm, with an approximate finish of 6.30pm. Tickets are £16, or £17.34 including the booking fee. Seating is unreserved and first come first served, so if you've got a preference for where you sit, it's worth getting in early. There are no physical tickets; your name goes on a list at the door.
