Alasdair Beckett-King - King Of Crumbs

Alasdair Beckett-King brings his stand-up show King of Crumbs to The Attic on Thursday 19 November. It's his third UK tour, and it's the one that's been extended because of demand, so it's a good time to catch it if you've been keeping an eye on it. He's a multi-award-winning British stand-up, author, and occasional internet sensation, and he bills himself as 'the crumbliest comedian in the game'.

If you're not familiar with him, you've probably seen him on Mock the Week and 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and he's written for Phoenix Remix. King of Crumbs blends smart writing with an offbeat comic sensibility, and it follows a string of viral videos and successful runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He's a regular on the UK circuit, playing small to mid-size venues across the country, so this is one of those nights where you're quite close to the action.

The critics have a few different ways of describing him. Chortle called him 'an absolute treasure trove', Rolling Stone wondered if he's 'either a genius or a very silly man', and Stewart Lee described the work as 'clockwork comedy perfection'. The Telegraph kept it simpler and called the act 'a delight'.

The show is at The Attic, River Studios, 32 Winsor Road, Totton, Southampton, SO40 9HQ. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.45pm. Tickets were £20, and it's now sold out.
