An immersive experience led by Julie Albin combining professional wine tasting with the symbolism of the Major Arcana, including a personal tarot reading.
Julie Albin brings A Journey Through Wine & Tarot to Blue Jasmine on Wednesday 9 September, a night that puts a professional wine tasting and the symbolism of the tarot in the same room. Albin is a DipWSET, an author and the founder of Tarot Vin, and she'll be leading the session herself.
The evening is built around three carefully selected wines. For each one, Albin talks through its character, its aromas and its flavours, and uses those to introduce a corresponding tarot archetype from the Major Arcana. The idea is to let the wine act as a gateway into the imagery of the cards, so the two things run alongside each other rather than one just being a backdrop for the other. Once the three wines have set the scene, she opens up the wider worlds of tarot and astrology, and every guest gets their own individual personal tarot reading.
It's a bit of a double-sided night: the first half is a guided tasting, and the second is more about the reading. If you're into wine but have never given tarot a go, it's a low-stakes way to see how the two fit together. If you're already familiar with the cards, it's a chance to see them paired with something you can actually taste. Either way, you'll walk away with a personal reading to your name.
