Free tribute concert with four singers and a live band playing Luther Vandross hits in a candlelit setting at Sheffield Cathedral.
The Music of Luther Vandross comes to Sheffield Cathedral on Thursday 5 November, a tribute concert honouring one of R&B's most beloved legends. Vandross was known for his rich tones, emotional depth and unforgettable love songs, and this night brings his greatest hits to life in a candlelit setting.
The set is built around the songs that made him a household name. You'll hear 'Never Too Much', 'Dance with My Father', 'Here and Now', 'So Amazing', 'A House Is Not a Home', 'If Only for One Night', 'Stop to Love' and 'The Power of Love / Love Power'. It's a run of his most recognisable work, and the candlelit atmosphere of the cathedral puts them in a different light than a standard club or concert hall.
On stage, the music is handled by four singers and a live band, so the vocals and the instrumentation both get their own space. The organisers make it clear that this is a tribute concert and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Luther Vandross's estate or representatives.
