Halloween bar crawl for students across Sheffield's bars, finishing at Hazy Club on Eyre Street.
The Living Dead Crawl returns to Sheffield on Saturday 31 October, the city's big Halloween bar crawl. It's run by Organised Chaos Sheffield, and it's built around a simple enough premise: you dress up as the undead and follow a route through a string of the city's bars, with the whole thing finishing up at Hazy Club on Eyre Street.
If you've been around the student scene here, you'll know the scale it works on. It's billed as Sheffield's most terrifying student night of the year, and it's not just a few groups heading out for drinks. Organised Chaos puts more than 4,000 students into the city streets for the night, so it's less a casual stroll and more a full-on parade of the undead moving from one venue to the next. The route takes you across several Sheffield bars before it all converges on Hazy Club, which is where the night ends.
Because it's a crawl, the evening is as much about the movement between bars as it is about the drinks. You'll be out in the city with a few thousand other people in costume, so the dress code is practically a requirement. The whole thing is themed around the living dead, and the bigger the crowd, the more it feels like a proper event rather than just a night out. If you're into the spectacle of it, that's the main draw here.
