Autumn wreath-making session led by the Cathedral Flower Guild, with all materials provided and refreshments.
Sheffield Cathedral is hosting an autumn wreath making workshop on Saturday 24 October, from 10:00 to 13:00. It's a morning session run by the Cathedral Flower Guild, the cathedral's own team of flower makers, who'll be guiding you step-by-step through the process of crafting a seasonal decoration. If you've never made a wreath before, that's exactly the kind of thing this is for — you'll be shown how to build it from the ground up rather than just being left to figure it out on your own.
All the materials are provided, so you don't need to bring anything with you. You'll spend the morning working through the steps, and by the end you'll have your own wreath to take home. There are warm refreshments on hand throughout, which is a nice touch when you're working with your hands on a Saturday morning. It's a straightforward setup: you turn up, follow the lead of the guild, and leave with something finished.
The session is led by the Cathedral Flower Guild, the same team responsible for the cathedral's own floral displays, so you're learning from the people who do this as part of their regular work there. They'll be with you for the whole three hours, taking you through the process one stage at a time. It's a good way to pick up the basics of wreath making in a relaxed setting, and since they're the ones who handle the flowers for the cathedral, they know their way around a seasonal arrangement.
