RUFFCUT Saturdays

RUFFCUT Saturdays returns to The Viper Rooms on Saturday 2 January, with the night starting at 20:00. It's a house, hip-hop and RnB session, and as the name suggests, it's part of a regular Saturday series rather than a one-off.

That mix tells you exactly what to expect from the booth. House provides the steady four-to-the-floor that keeps the dancefloor moving, hip-hop brings the beats and the heavier bass, and RnB fills in the melodic, vocal side of things. When they run together, you get a night that shifts between the two: one moment you're in a house groove, the next it's a hip-hop track, and then a bit of RnB to smooth it out. It's the kind of set that works whether you're there to dance or just to hang out and listen.

Coming on the first Saturday of the new year, it's an easy way to get back into the swing of things after the holidays. The Viper Rooms is right in the heart of Sheffield, so it's a straightforward one to get to without having to trek across the city. If you're not planning on staying until the early hours, it's a good spot to start your evening.

Entry is £5, and there's free entry until 01:00, so if you get there early you'll save a few quid. It kicks off at 20:00, and with the house, hip-hop and RnB running through the night, there's plenty of room to settle in. If you're after a night of those three sounds in the city centre, this is where you'll find them.
