Liverpool four-piece pop punk band RIVIA play their first headline gig at Corporation in Sheffield.
RIVIA are playing Corporation on Saturday 21 November, their first headline date in Sheffield. They're a four-piece from Liverpool, and they've spent their time so far on a mission to drag pop punk back into the spotlight, kicking and screaming and sounding bloody good doing it. It's a bold way to describe what they do, but it gives you a fair idea of the energy they bring to a room.
If you're trying to place them, the easiest shorthand is that they're Liverpool's answer to Sum 41 and Blink-182. That puts them firmly in the pop punk camp: catchy lyrics, strong vocals, and a proper band behind them rather than just a laptop. They've built their sound on that combination of hooks and musicianship, and this is the first time they've stepped up to headline a Sheffield show on their own.

It's a Saturday night in the city centre, so it's an easy one to get to. Corporation is at 2 Milton Street, right in the heart of Sheffield S1, and the night kicks off at 19:00. Tickets are £10, so it's a straightforward tenner for a full set from a band that's travelled up from Liverpool to play it.
