Pete Roth Trio

The Pete Roth Trio are back at Crookes Social Club on Thursday 28 January, one of the Sheffield dates on their 2027 Northern Tour. The trio features drummer Bill Bruford, and this is a return to the club for them.

The night is part of the monthly acoustic evenings run by local promoter Duncan Parsons, a musician and audio technician who's been staging intimate nights at Nether Edge's The Lantern Theatre and at the historic Crookes Social Club. He first put on music locally with a 2012 tech day at Red Tape Studios that featured drumming legend Bill Bruford, and started bringing acts to The Lantern when he discovered that 70s singer-songwriter Dean Friedman had never played Sheffield; he's since hosted the late Judy Dyble of Fairport Convention and early King Crimson, and brought back Bruford, who retired from public performance in 2009 before re-appearing in 2024. His nights at Crookes Social Club, billed as 'evenings of hand-woven dreams', are mostly on Wednesdays, and the venue is also where Def Leppard played their first professional engagement.

Tickets are £10.
