A talk by David Templeman on buildings, people and places, part of the Off the Shelf: Festival of Words.
David Templeman is taking the stage at the Millennium Gallery on Wednesday 21 October, for a talk titled Ye Olde Sheffield Part 2: Buildings, People, Places. It's a lunchtime session, running from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, so it fits into a working day rather than taking up an evening.
As the title suggests, the talk focuses on the buildings, people and places that make up the city's history. It's the second part of a series, so if you've got a soft spot for the way Sheffield has changed over the years, this is exactly the kind of thing to keep on your radar. Templeman will be the one leading the conversation, and the whole thing is held within the gallery itself.
The talk is part of Off the Shelf: Festival of Words, the University of Sheffield's festival that brings together writers, historians and thinkers to explore subjects ranging from history and literature to art and science. It's one of many sessions they run across the city, and this one sits on the history side of things, looking at the physical fabric of Sheffield and the people who lived and worked within it. If you're into local history, it's a good way to spend an hour.
