Beginner-friendly two-hour needle-felting workshop led by local expert Amy Barrett, where everyone makes a felt fox.
Amy Barrett is leading a needle felting workshop at Crosspool Social on Sunday 1 November, from 2pm to 4pm. Over the two hours, she'll take you step-by-step through the process of making a felt fox, so you'll leave with something finished and ready to take home.
Needle felting is one of those crafts that looks like magic when you see it done, but it's actually quite tactile and straightforward once you get the hang of it. You work with loose wool and a special barbed needle, poking the fibres together until they lock into a solid shape. Barrett is a local expert, and she'll be there to guide you through the whole thing, from the first few stabs of the needle to the final details on your fox.
The session is pitched at complete beginners, so if you've never touched a felting needle in your life, you'll be in good company. That said, it's just as useful for anyone who's already had a go and wants to build on what they know. Everyone takes their creation home at the end, so it's a proper make-and-take afternoon.

One thing to keep in mind: the needles are sharp, so the workshop is for ages 12 and over. It's run by Crosspool Social, a Sheffield venue that puts on a range of hobby and experience-based events, so this is one of many they've got going on. The cost is £27.50 per person, which covers both the tuition and all the materials you'll need for the session. It runs from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday 1 November at Crosspool Social, Sandygate Road, Sheffield S10 5NH.
