Beginner-friendly hands-on workshop to design and craft your own Turkish mosaic lamp from glass and beads, with materials included.
Mosaic Classes are running at Mercure Sheffield Kenwood Hall & Spa on Saturday 24 October, starting at 11:00. It's a beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop where you design and craft your own Turkish mosaic lamp, and you get to pick which one you make: a candle holder, a mini table lamp, a tall table lamp, a swan lamp or a moon lamp. You don't need any prior skills to join in, as experienced artists provide step-by-step guidance throughout the session. You'll assemble your piece from colourful glass and beads, and all the materials are included in the price.
The organisers describe the experience as a blend of artistry, culture and relaxation, and it's pitched as something that works for friends, couples or solo explorers. Traditional Turkish tea is served during the session, and you take your finished lamp home with you. It's a slow, tactile morning of making, and since the artists are on hand to walk you through it, you can focus on the design rather than worrying about the technique.
