Relaxed singles night for people in their early forties to mid fifties, where every woman gets a padlock and every man a key to find a match.
Original Dating are bringing their Lock & Key singles party to Manahatta on Friday 13 November, from 8pm to 10pm. It's one of their regular singles nights, and this particular one is aimed at people in their early forties to mid fifties.
If you've done speed dating before, you know the drill: a bell goes, you move on, and you're chatting to a new person every few minutes. Lock & Key is a bit different. Every woman gets a padlock and every man gets a key, and the whole point of the night is to find the one that fits. There's a host on hand to get people talking, but there's no bell telling you when to move on, so you can actually stay and chat if you're getting on with someone. It's a looser, more relaxed way of meeting people than the usual speed dating format.
Original Dating call themselves London's favourite speed dating company and say they've been at this for over 15 years. They claim to have produced the first speed-dating marriage in the UK back in 2004, with many more since then. This session is for the 40s-50s crowd, so it's tailored to a specific age group rather than a general mix.
