Free hands-on craft session for children to make their own Christmas tree decoration to take home.
Cutlery Works is hosting a free Christmas tree decoration making session for kids on Sunday 6 December, from 10 am to 12 pm. It's a hands-on craft morning over in Neepsend, and the whole point is that the children make their own festive decoration to take home and hang on the tree. If you've got little ones who like getting stuck into making things, it's a straightforward way to spend a Sunday morning before the December rush really kicks in.
Cutlery Works runs the session, so it's their space and their staff on hand. The focus is entirely on the making: the kids work through the process of creating a decoration from scratch, and they leave with something they've actually made themselves rather than just a pre-cut kit. It's a proper craft activity, not a quick assembly line, so there's plenty of room for them to get their hands dirty and put their own spin on it.
It's a two-hour window, which is a good length for a children's workshop—enough time to get a proper result without it dragging on too long. Since it's a Sunday morning, it works well as a family outing: you can head over, let the kids get creative, and then carry on with the rest of your day. And because it's free, it's an easy one to add to the calendar without worrying about the cost of another activity during the festive season.
