Daisy Daisy, the folk duo of Julia Waldron and Nicola Farnon, play their annual festive knees-up with special guests PLUC, the Pitsmoor Ladies Ukulele Chorale.
Daisy Daisy are back at The Lescar Hotel on Sunday 13 December for their annual Christmas special, a one-off festive knees-up that they describe as every bit as full of madness as ever. The duo is Julia Waldron on guitar and vocals, and Nicola Farnon on double bass, piano and vocals. They've been playing together for years, and that friendship sits right at the front of the show.
The set pulls from a few different places: well-loved songs, their own original material, and festive favourites, all woven together with daft stories, spontaneous silliness and stage banter that they say can go dangerously off-piste. Underneath the comedy, though, there's the musicianship they're known for — tight harmonies and a real sense of play. It's a night that works as much for the music as for the laughs.
They aren't playing alone, either. Local favourites PLUC, the Pitsmoor Ladies Ukulele Chorale, open the evening, bringing their own blend of personality, humour and ukulele magic. Among them are Stacey and Caroline, good friends of Julia's, and the two acts are expected to collaborate across the night rather than just taking separate turns on stage.
