Covenant marks 40 years of 'pop with an edge' on its 1986-2026 Legacy Tour, with support from Black Nail Cabaret.
Covenant are playing Corporation on Friday 4 December, as part of their Covenant 1986-2026 Legacy Tour. They're joined by special guests Black Nail Cabaret, so there are two acts on the bill. The night runs from 18:30 to 23:00, and tickets are £28.
The tour marks 40 years of the band, who they describe as "pop with an edge". The shows run about two and a half hours, drawing from every album they've released, with the setlists voted for by the fans. If you've followed them for a while, you'll likely hear a good spread of their work rather than just the most recent record.
There's a bit of history to the 40-year mark. Covenant formed on 26 April 1986, the eve of the Chernobyl disaster, after the band were blown away by Front 242 at the Stadt Hamburg in Malmö. They describe the aggressive beats and uncompromising attitude they heard there, mixed with the pop flavour of their own new song 'Don't Crash', as making a deep impression. Only five months later, the trio of Clas, Eskil and Joakim played their first show with their own songs. Since then, they've performed in 42 countries across six continents and released more than 120 songs.
