Christmas Day greyhound racing at Owlerton Stadium, with gates opening at 9:30 and the first race at 11:00.
Owlerton Stadium is running greyhound racing on Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December, with the gates opening at 9:30am and the first race off at 11:00am. It's one of the few things going on in Sheffield that morning, so if you're looking for a way to spend the day between Christmas and New Year, this is a straightforward option.
Boxing Day is part of a wider Christmas run at the stadium, which positions itself as one of the city's party venues over the festive period. Every Friday and Saturday night, they've got live racing, a DJ and a late-night bar. The race night packages range from informal trackside deals to the glass-fronted Panorama Restaurant, which looks over the track and serves a festive three or four-course menu with live racing and table betting. There are also private VIP hospitality boxes with a balcony, minibar and full bar service. For families, they run Brunch with Santa and Lunch with Santa on select dates, where every child under 12 gets a gift from Santa.
Outside of the Christmas season, public racing runs on Friday evenings, Sunday afternoons and select Saturdays. If you're into the sport, race sponsorship starts from £50 and party packages from £75 per party.
