Free Bonfire Night at The Rivelin Inn in Stannington with all-night live music, a BBQ, a kids' menu and fireworks over the Rivelin Valley.
The Rivelin Inn is hosting its Bonfire Night on Saturday 7 November, from 7:30pm. The pub sits in Stannington, about three miles from Sheffield city centre, and looks out over the Rivelin Valley, which is where the fireworks are set off. It's a proper pub setting for the night, with the display going off across the valley rather than right on top of you.
It's built for families. Live music runs all night, and there's a BBQ and a bar to keep you going. For the smaller ones, there's a play frame and a kids' menu, and the pub is recommended for under-5s, so it's one of those nights where you can bring the whole lot along without worrying about whether the little ones will fit in. The fireworks are the main event, but the music, food and drinks carry the evening through.

On the practical side, entry is free — no tickets, no booking fee and no advance booking required, so you just turn up. There's free parking, though it fills up fast, so it's worth getting there a bit early if you're driving. If the weather turns and they have to call it off, they post the update on Facebook. One thing to keep in mind: the pub advises against bringing nervous dogs, which makes sense given the fireworks. It kicks off at 7:30pm on Saturday 7 November at The Rivelin Inn in Stannington.
