Bellowhead, the folk big band of English traditional music, play Sheffield City Hall with special guest Seckou Keita on their Burlesque 20th Anniversary Tour.
Bellowhead are playing Sheffield City Hall on Saturday 21 November, with the Gambian kora player Seckou Keita as special guest. It's part of their Burlesque 20th Anniversary Tour, which marks two decades since the band's full-length debut.
That first record, Burlesque, featured songs like 'London Town', 'Frog's Legs', 'Dragon's Teeth' and 'Rigs of The Time', and it set out the sound they'd become known for: traditional English folk played with a modern big-band feel. After that, they recorded four more studio albums, sold over a quarter of a million copies, won two silver discs and eight BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, before calling it a day in 2016.
They didn't stay away for long. A record-breaking online stream during the pandemic brought them back together, followed by a sold-out tour in 2022 and another in 2024, which reaffirmed their place as one of the biggest folk acts in the UK. This tour takes them back to where it all started, with Burlesque at the centre of the set.
