Gentle re-introduction to netball for beginners, run by England Netball coaches on Tuesdays.
England Netball are running Back to Netball at Mercia School on Carter Knowle Road, S7 2DY, with sessions every Tuesday from 19:30 to 20:30, starting 27 October and running through to 19 January 2027. It's a gentle re-introduction to the sport, run by passionate and enthusiastic coaches in sessions that cover the basics of the game. If you played years ago and have let it slip, or if you've never picked up a netball before, this is designed to get you back on court without feeling thrown in at the deep end.
Because it's a re-introduction, the focus is on the fundamentals rather than high-pressure competition. The coaches take you through the basics of the game, so you can find your feet and get your confidence back at your own pace. It's as much about the social side as the sport, and since it runs over several months, you've got plenty of time to settle in and find your rhythm rather than having to get it all sorted in one go.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Sheffield and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Places are limited to 30 per session, so it's a small enough group that you'll actually get some attention from the coaches. There's no need to register in advance, though anyone not following the online registration process is asked to email the contact. Payment is made directly to the partner deliverers on the night: it's £6 full price, or £5 if you're an England Netball member. With the sessions running every Tuesday evening from late October through to mid-January, you can drop in when it suits you.
