Americana Christmas night with country covers from Crossfire Heart, Southern rock from Dois Padres and Kelain James.
Crossfire Heart, Dois Padres and Kelain James are playing Arundel Emporium on Saturday 12 December, a night of Americana in the heart of Sheffield's Steel City Americana scene. It's a triple bill, so you've got three different takes on the genre on one stage.
Crossfire Heart are a UK country band, and their set mixes covers of modern country with their own original songs. Dois Padres, who formed in 2017, are a two-piece Southern Rock outfit from Bedfordshire with a Delta Blues edge. They've been likened to a Dixie equivalent of Royal Blood, and they draw on George Thorogood, Elmore James, Seasick Steve and Cam Cole. Kelain James, billed as 'The Outlaw', brings genuine, dark and gritty music to the mix.
Between them, the three cover a fair stretch of the Americana map: modern country, Southern Rock with a bluesy lean, and the darker, outlaw side of things. It's a proper showcase of the scene rather than just one band playing a set, and the whole thing sits within Sheffield's Americana community.
