London Concertante plays a selection of opera arias and overtures by Puccini, Verdi, Rossini, Mozart and Bizet in the candlelit Sheffield Cathedral.
London Concertante bring A Night at the Opera to Sheffield Cathedral on Friday 6 November, their most popular programme performed by candlelight. It's a refreshed and expanded edition for 2026, with a new addition to the line-up: four soloists — soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor and now a baritone — accompanied by a live orchestra.
The set pulls from opera's best-known arias, duets and ensembles by Puccini, Verdi, Rossini, Mozart and Bizet. You'll hear pieces from The Magic Flute, La traviata, Carmen, Tosca, Turandot and The Barber of Seville, so it covers a fair bit of ground across the big names. The whole thing runs about two hours, with a short interval in the middle, and a licensed bar open both before the performance and during the break if you fancy a drink before taking your seat.
