Networking session for the 3D Connect group in which members share the business and personal development books, e-books, audiobooks and podcasts that have shaped their success.
3D Connect are back at The Library Venue in Attercliffe on Tuesday 17 November, with a session called Let's Get Booked! presented by Andy Hanselman Consulting. It's a business networking morning, but the focus is on reading rather than the usual pitch. The 3D Connect group will be recommending the business and personal development books, e-books, audiobooks and podcasts that have shaped their success, so it's as much about what they've learned as who they are.
There's a practical side to it too: you're invited to bring along your own recommended reads to swap with others. If you've got a book that's made a difference to how you work or think, this is a good place to pass it on and pick up something new in return. Alongside the recommendations, the session will look at the 'Bookish Collaborations' of bookshops and cafes that have been cropping up across Sheffield lately.
The line-up for the morning includes Phil Turner, a publisher and editor; Deborah Bullivant, CEO of Arts Council England; Lisa Pogson, who chairs the group; and David Slater, a Sheffield entrepreneur and cafe owner. Between them, that's publishing, arts funding, leadership and the local hospitality trade all in one room.

It's an in-person session that runs for two hours, from 8:30 to 10:30 in the morning, so you're done well before the working day really gets going. Entry is free for 3D Connect members, and £17 for a 'Look & See' session if you're not a member and just want to see what it's all about. If you book and your plans change, refunds are available up to seven days before the event. The Library Venue is at 10 Leeds Road, Attercliffe, S9 3TY.
