A Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at the Seattle Aquarium featuring Spanish-language animal talks, story time, puppet shows, and a Spanish-inspired menu.
¡Vamos al Acuario! is running at the Seattle Aquarium from September 15 through October 15, the Aquarium's celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. It's built to welcome the Latine community and anyone interested in celebrating Latine culture, and the whole thing frames marine conservation as something more welcoming and accessible. The Aquarium sits on the waterfront near Pike Place Market and Waterfront Park, and its mission is "Inspiring Conservation of Our Marine Environment."
There's a good bit of programming to work around. Animal talks are held in both Spanish and English on select Wednesdays and Sundays, and there's a digital scavenger hunt available in Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and English. For families, there are story times and puppet shows in Spanish, and the cafe menu is inspired by Spanish-speaking countries. If you're bringing little ones, Toddler Time runs September 27, 28 and October 10, 11. There was also a sensory-friendly early opening on Sunday, September 27 at 9 AM.
