Outlaw, bluegrass, rockabilly concert by The Shivering Denizens at El Corazon.
The Shivering Denizens are playing El Corazón on Friday, November 13. It's a single-bill night, so they're the only act on the bill.
If you're not familiar with them, the sound is a mix of outlaw country, bluegrass, and rockabilly. It's a particular intersection of styles that pulls from a few different traditions: the outlaw side leans into the storytelling and grit of the country fringe; the bluegrass brings the acoustic, high-lonesome string work; and the rockabilly adds that early rock and roll swing. When they run together, it's music that sits somewhere between a honky-tonk and a front-porch jam, with enough energy to keep it from feeling like a museum piece. It's the kind of set that works as well if you're there to listen as it does if you're there to dance.
Since they're the main feature, the whole night is built around their set. There aren't any opening acts to work through first, so the show starts with them and stays with them. If you're coming for the band, you won't have to wait around for the headliner to take the stage.
