GRAMMY Award-winning folk duo of banjo and guitar, Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing, play an acoustic backyard set for children and families.
The Okee Dokee Brothers play Town Hall Seattle on Saturday, October 17, at 11 AM. It's a morning show, which makes it an easy one to bring the kids to without worrying about a late night.
Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing are childhood friends who grew up exploring the outdoors together in Denver, Colorado. They've spent their lives playing Americana folk built on banjo, guitar and brotherly harmony, and their songs celebrate friendship, nature and the joy of discovery. They've earned a reputation as 'the Shel Silverstein of family music' for reaching children and parents alike, and their work has picked up five Parents' Choice Awards and a GRAMMY for Best Children's Album. NPR's All Things Considered and USA Today have praised them, and their family films have run on PBS KIDS and Netflix.
They're touring their latest album, Little Old You, which returns to an acoustic backyard set. That's the sound they're known for: banjo and guitar with those two voices singing in harmony, the kind of folk that feels right at home in a living room or a backyard. If you've got little ones, it's a good way to spend a Saturday morning.
