A spooky-themed evening of Latin music and dance with salsa and bachata, featuring live DJs and professional dance instruction, presented by the Port of Seattle.
Spooky Salsa & Boo-Chata takes over Pier 66 on Saturday, October 31, starting at 6 PM. It's a Halloween-themed night of salsa and bachata presented by the Port of Seattle, and it's free to attend. All dance levels are welcome, so you don't need to be a pro to get on the floor.
Live Latin DJs will keep the music going throughout the night, and Sazón Dance Events is handling the professional dance instruction. If you've never danced salsa or bachata before, this is a good place to start—they'll walk you through the steps. Costumes are encouraged, and there's a costume competition with three winners, so if you've been looking for an excuse to go all out for Halloween, here it is.
The night is part of Waterfront Park's 'Frights and Delights' programming, and it runs both indoors and outdoors, weather permitting. There's a festive photo booth on site and local food trucks nearby if you want to grab a bite between dances.

For a bit of context, the event is held at Waterfront Park, the 20-acre public space built on the site of the old highway viaduct after the 2001 Nisqually earthquake. Friends of Waterfront Park raised $170 million through the Campaign for Waterfront Park—the largest philanthropic campaign for public space in Seattle's history—and the park opened in 2025. It includes the Overlook Walk, a restored beach at Habitat Beach, and public art like Taylor Cameron's Currents of Connection on Pier 62. The park is designed with wheelchair-accessible seating, shade, water stations, and ADA-accessible restrooms.
Spooky Salsa & Boo-Chata kicks off at 6 PM on Saturday, October 31, at Pier 62 / Pier 66, Waterfront Park, 2225 Alaskan Way in downtown Seattle. Admission is free.
