A community-driven vinyl night where music lovers gather to share, discover, and connect over a drink in a collaborative listening lounge format.
Sips and Sounds: Vinyl Sessions returns to W Seattle on Wednesday, October 7, for another night of community-driven listening. It's held in the hotel's Living Room, and the whole thing is built around the idea of music lovers gathering to share, discover, and connect over a drink.
The evening runs as a collaborative listening lounge. Instead of a single DJ controlling the room, guest selections help guide the music throughout the night. The records that play are a mix of vinyl brought in by people in the room and the hotel's own collection, so the setlist changes based on who shows up and what they're carrying. Along with that, there are guest-submitted album spotlights, and raffles and giveaways for anyone who brings a record to play.
It's a low-pressure way to spend a Wednesday night—you can bring your own favorite pressings and hear them on a proper system, or just hang out and listen to what other people are spinning. The Living Room is set up for exploring new sounds and revisiting old favorites, and the collaborative format means you're as much a part of the night as you are a guest. If you've got a record you've been wanting to share, this is a good place to do it.
