Deathcore concert featuring Signs of the Swarm, Nekrogoblikon, Aborted and Party Cannon at The Crocodile.
Signs of the Swarm are playing The Crocodile on Thursday, November 12, with Nekrogoblikon, Aborted, and Party Cannon on the bill. It's a heavy night that pulls from a few different corners of the scene, and the Pittsburgh deathcore outfit is the one to watch here.
Signs of the Swarm are fronted by vocalist David Simonich, who's been called a once-in-a-generation beacon of the style. Their fourth LP, Absolvere, is bleak without being blackened and adds an ethereal side to their sound. Simonich drew on personal ground for the record, including loved ones struggling with addiction. Bobby Crow, who has moved from drums to bass and back to drums, acted as de facto producer, arranging riffs that were written across Skype. The current lineup rounds out with guitarist Jeff Russo, a former Improvience bandmate of Simonich, alongside Ben Duerr of Shadow of Intent and Alex Erian of Despised Icon on growls and shouts.
Since Absolvere came out, they've toured with Fit for an Autopsy, Born of Osiris, and Shadow of Intent, with further European and Australian dates planned. This Seattle stop is part of that run, and they're sharing the stage with Nekrogoblikon, Aborted, and Party Cannon, so you'll get a full evening of heavy music rather than just one band. The show is 21 and over.
