A 21+ Halloween night event with mycology talks, interactive activities, live music, art installations and a flash mob at the Pacific Science Center.
Pacific Science Center is opening its doors after hours for Fungi Fest on Saturday, October 31, from 7 PM to 10 PM. It's part of Science After Dark, the center's 21+ series that mixes science, art, and nightlife by letting adults into the campus after the families have gone home. This particular night leans hard into Halloween: guests are invited to come dressed as mushrooms or forest creatures and spend the evening discovering the fungal kingdom through talks and hands-on activities.
The science side is held down by mycology talks from Seattle Naturalists and AgroForestry. Around them, there's a lot to wander through: free tarot readings with The Primal Mystic and Attune Sound Therapy, mushroom-stamped cards, 3D prints, and painted mushrooms you can take home. Sunny Doodles will be doing mushroom caricatures, and Hexagon Misfit has a video art installation on display. DJ Sazon provides the beats, with La Mala Noche and Papito Peace on the bill. At 9:30 PM, the whole thing comes together for a Thriller flash mob.
