Album release sing-along concert with RĂomas at Fremont Abbey Arts Center, an all-ages, alcohol-free participatory music event.
RĂomas are playing an album release sing-along at Fremont Abbey Arts Center on Saturday, October 10. It's a sing-along, so the whole point is that you're meant to join in rather than just listen. The music they'll be working through comes from Gather Your Resilience: Medicine for Liberation, their first community song album, which came out in March 2026.
If you're not familiar, RĂomas (they/them) is a queer, trans masculine, Puerto Rican-Iranian artist, facilitator, and culture builder based in Portland, Oregon. They work at the intersection of music, healing, and activism, writing participatory songs that pull from roots, pop, and folk textures rooted in Black and Afro-Latin lineages. That community focus isn't just a side project: they founded Sing People Sing!, a queer and BIPOC-led community song circle series in Portland, authored the course Drum Song Reclamation, and lead an emerging band collective. Gather Your Resilience is their first full album of community songs, and this show is one of the ways it's being brought to a live audience.
It's an all-ages, alcohol-free event, so it's a good one to bring kids or a group of friends along to. There's some seating available, but it's not guaranteed unless you buy a reserved seat ticket, so if you're set on sitting, that's the one to go for. The venue serves non-alcoholic options, elixirs, and small snacks throughout the night.
