Country music artist Rayland Baxter performs his True Violet Tour with special guest Esther Rose at The Crocodile.
Rayland Baxter brings his True Violet tour to The Crocodile on Monday, March 8, 2027, with Esther Rose opening. The Crocodile, at 2505 1st Ave, has been part of Seattle's music scene for more than 30 years, hosting acts like Nirvana, Yoko Ono, Pearl Jam, R.E.M., Lizzo and Billie Eilish.
Baxter is touring True Violet, the record he describes as the place where the true metamorphosis unfolded following his 2022 album If I Were A Butterfly. He wrote it alone with a guitar, inspired by conversations with his sister, and it marks the first Baxter record made without the presence of his father, Bucky Baxter. Bucky was a multi-instrumentalist best known for his work with Bob Dylan and as a member of Steve Earle and The Dukes, and his musicianship and encouragement had shaped every previous chapter of Rayland's career.
Opening the night is Esther Rose, a Santa Fe-based songwriter whose work spans country, rock and roll and folk. She'll set the stage before Baxter takes over for the headlining set.
