DJ set by Pendulum at Q Nightclub, with support from Koji Aiken. 21+ event with valid I.D. required.
Pendulum are playing a DJ set at Q Nightclub on Friday, October 9, with support from Koji Aiken. If you've only known them as a live band, this is a different side of the project. The night is 21+ with valid ID, and VIP tables are available.
To get some context on where this comes from: Pendulum formed in Perth, Western Australia, back in 2002, when producers Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen teamed up with local DJ Paul 'El Hornet' Harding. They drew on roots in drum & bass, breakbeat and hardcore, and having played in metal and punk bands, they worked their way through the drum & bass world in their first twelve months together. Later they relocated to the UK and built a full live band, while El Hornet took the reins of the Pendulum DJ sets, playing major electronic festivals like Liquicity, Let It Roll, Rampage, Dreambeach and EDC.
These days the DJ sets alternate between individual members and sometimes run as a trio, and they pull from more than just the drum & bass they started with. The sets span drum and bass, house, techno, tech house breaks and hardcore, so it's a broader range of electronic styles than what you'd hear from the live band. Koji Aiken is on support, and Smyttiii opens the floor at 10 PM.
