First week of headliner dance performances from the OUT THERE festival, featuring experimental dance works by West Coast artists.
Velocity Dance Center kicks off the first week of headliners for OUT THERE from October 1 to 3, with performances starting at 7:30 PM each night. The shows run at Velocity's Regional Creative Incubator, located at the 12th Ave Arts Mainstage, 1620 12th Ave in Seattle. Each evening pairs two 30-minute works by West Coast artists, so you get two different pieces in one sitting.
OUT THERE is an experimental dance festival Velocity puts on to bring West Coast performance-makers to Seattle. It's presented through the venue's Regional Creative Incubator Program, which works to connect experimental artists with each other and with Seattle audiences, and to help them build long-standing regional and national partnerships. The festival is curated by a team of four Velocity panelists and is part of the center's 2026 season, supported by 4 Culture, the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, ArtsFund and Creative West, and underwritten by John C. Robinson and the Glenn Kawasaki Foundation.
There's more to the nights than just the two performances. Every evening starts with a free 6 PM DJ-led pre-show party, and ends with a free 8:30 PM afterglow party at Velocity's popup bar, so you can hang out before and after the main event. The venue is fully accessible for wheelchairs and walkers, with a street-level lobby and bathrooms and an Assistive Listening Device.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Seattle and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
