Grammy-winning bassist Oteil Burbridge performs with his band Oteil & Friends at the Neptune Theatre in Seattle.
Oteil Burbridge plays the Neptune Theatre on Tuesday, March 9, 2027, performing under the name Oteil & Friends. It's one of seven dates on a spring tour running through Colorado and the Pacific Northwest, so this is the Seattle stop of a larger run.
If you're not familiar with the name, Burbridge is a two-time Grammy-winning bassist with a career that goes back over three decades. He first made a name for himself as a founding member of the Aquarium Rescue Unit in 1991, which eventually led him into The Allman Brothers Band. He spent years there, earning two Grammy nominations for best rock instrumental and later receiving a 2012 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award as the band's longest-running bassist.
Beyond the Allman Brothers, he's worked in a few different directions. He started his own solo group, Oteil and the Peacemakers, in 1998; teamed up with Page McConnell and Russell Batiste in Vida Blue in 2001; and in 2010 reunited with his brother Kofi in the Tedeschi Trucks Band, whose 2011 album Revelator won a Grammy. From 2015 to 2017, he held down the bass in Dead & Company alongside Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, and John Mayer. Over the years, he's shared the stage with Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Levon Helm, Taj Mahal, and Buddy Guy.
