Concert by Lyle Lovett and his Small Large Band at The 5th Avenue Theatre, presented by Seattle Theatre Group.
Lyle Lovett and his Small Large Band play The 5th Avenue Theatre on Thursday, October 22, 2026. It's a reserved seated show presented by Seattle Theatre Group.
Lovett is a Texas-based singer, composer, and actor who has spent more than four decades broadening the definition of American music across 14 albums. He fuses country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel, and blues in a way that doesn't fit neatly into one box, and his live performances are where the full range of those influences comes through. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, he's evolved into one of music's most vibrant and iconic performers.
Along the way, he's picked up four Grammy Awards, the Americana Music Association's inaugural Trailblazer Award, and the title of Texas State Musician. The Small Large Band is the ensemble he brings with him, and the name itself hints at the kind of show he does — a mix of the intimate and the expansive. The set draws from a career that spans those 14 albums, pulling from the country, jazz, and swing that have defined his sound since the mid-eighties.
