Concert by the hardcore punk trio Knumears at the El Corazon venue in Seattle.
Knumears play El Corazon on Tuesday, October 27, starting at 7 PM. The venue is at 109 Eastlake Ave E in Seattle, and the show is billed as Knumears at El Corazon.
Knumears formed in 2018 around guitarist and vocalist Matthew Cole, bassist and vocalist Dante Garcia II, and drummer Frankie Lopez. The trio works in one of the more esoteric corners of 1990s hardcore, drawing from screamo, skramz, and emoviolence. If those terms aren't familiar, it's the side of hardcore that leans into the jagged, high-tension energy of the late nineties—lots of shifting dynamics and raw vocals.

They recorded Breaking Ground at Atomic Garden with producer Jack Shirley, who's also worked with Deafheaven, Gouge Away, and Loma Prieta. That puts them in the company of some of the heavier, more textural acts in the scene, and Breaking Ground is the record they've been playing out. The show is on Tuesday, October 27, at 7 PM at El Corazon, 109 Eastlake Ave E.
