Portland indie pop, folk and rock trio Joseph perform at The Crocodile, celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album.
Joseph play The Crocodile on Friday, November 6, their first Seattle date in a while. The Portland-bred sister trio—Natalie, Allie, and Meegan Closner—are known for three-part harmonies and songwriting that sits between indie pop, folk, and rock. This particular show marks the 10th anniversary of their debut album, I'm Alone, No You're Not.
That record came out in 2016 and gave them the hit single "White Flag," which landed them on The Tonight Show, TODAY, and the Billboard charts. Since then, they've put out a string of critically acclaimed albums, including Good Luck, Kid in 2019 and The Sun in 2023, and have played major festivals like Coachella, Glastonbury, and Bonnaroo. Their most recent album, Closer to Happy, came out this year, co-produced with Luke Niccoli, who has worked with Carly Rae Jepsen and Miya Folick. The band describes it as their boldest and most personal work to date.
With the anniversary of the debut album as the hook, the set will likely pull from both ends of their catalog—the early songs that first put them on the map and the newer material from Closer to Happy. It's a good way to hear where they started and where they've gone since.
