A Halloween party hosted by The Lost Boys featuring live performances from the '80s new wave tribute band Prom Date Mixtape.
Hidden Hall is hosting the Lost Boys "Vampire Ball" on Saturday, October 31, with Prom Date Mixtape taking the stage. It's a Halloween party presented by Hidden Hall and Left of the Dial, and it lands right on the holiday itself.
Prom Date Mixtape bills themselves as the Ultimate Live '80s New Wave Experience, and they live up to the description. They're an authentic '80s new wave dance band, and their repertoire pulls from a long list of the era's biggest names: A-ha, Blondie, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Devo, Eurythmics, Human League, INXS, and Talking Heads. If you grew up with those records, you'll recognize a good chunk of the set. KOMO TV 4's Seattle Refined called them "The Greatest '80s Tribute Band in the Pacific Northwest," and their shows lean on energetic renditions of the decade's new wave, pop, and rock tunes.
Between the vampire theme and a setlist that runs through the synth-heavy side of the '80s, it's a night built for dancing. The music covers a lot of groundβthe moody textures of The Cure and Depeche Mode, the dancefloor-ready pop of A-ha and Blondie, and the quirkier, artier side of things from Devo and Talking Heads. It's a broad sweep of the decade's new wave sound, and the energy stays high throughout.
