A three-course meal pairing local chef Devon Capocelli of Mezzanotte with FareStart students, with all revenue supporting the organisation's training programmes.
Chef Devon Capocelli takes over the FareStart Restaurant on Thursday, October 15, for another Guest Chef Night. He's teaming up with FareStart students to put together a three-course meal, which community volunteers serve throughout the evening. All the revenue and donations from the night go straight into FareStart's training programs.
FareStart has spent more than 20 years working to disrupt poverty through food, life skills, and job training, and Guest Chef Night is one of its most popular initiatives. The regulars describe these evenings as one of the city's great treasures, combining exceptional food with a casual yet elegant room. It's a simple premise: a premier local chef works with the students to build the menu, and the community steps in to help get it to the table.
Capocelli brings a deep Italian lineage to the kitchen. Born and raised in Queens, New York, he grew up on the flavors of his family, with roots in Puglia and Napoli and his Nonno Antonio and Uncle Kevin as his biggest influences. He trained at Alma, the School of Italian Culinary Arts in Parma, and earned a Culinary Arts Associate Degree from Seattle Central College in 2021. Since then, he's spent years in Seattle's Italian kitchens, including Via Tribunali and Mama Melina Ristorante + Pizzeria, and four years with Ethan Stowell Restaurants at How to Cook a Wolf and Rione XIII. He's now at the helm of Mezzanotte.

The dinner runs from 5 PM to 9 PM at the FareStart Restaurant, 2004 Westlake Ave, and tickets are $60. It's a three-course meal, and since it's a Guest Chef Night, the whole thing supports the organization's training programs.
