Annual benefit and fundraising event hosted by DESC with community education, local speakers and live performances by The Dusty 45s and Lady A.
The Dusty 45s are headlining Gimme Shelter 2026 at the Reverie Ballroom on Friday, October 23. It's DESC's longest-running annual fundraiser, a night that pairs live music with stories about the organization's work to end homelessness.
Rounding out the bill is local jazz and blues legend Lady A, who's also hosting the evening. She's a Seattle singer, songwriter, and storyteller known across blues, soul, funk, and gospelโbilled as "The Hardest Workin' Woman in Blues, Soul, Funk & Gospel" and recognized as an award-winning advocate for preserving the legacy of those genres. Between the two acts, the night is as much about the stories as it is about the music.
The evening is 18+, with general seating on a first-come, first-served basis. There's a cash bar with sponsored beer, wine, and snacks during the Program Spotlight, and The Art Table is open for pre-event reservations and food. The room is on the second floor and accessible by elevator.
