Concert featuring the Chicago-based alternative rock band French Police and the post-punk band Social Order at The Crocodile.
French Police and Social Order play The Crocodile on Friday, October 9, 2026. It's a double bill that pulls from two different cities and two different takes on the synth-heavy side of alternative rock.
French Police come from Chicago, fronted by brothers Brian and Jesse Flores and Jose Vega. They describe their approach as a nostalgic one, drawing on 80s-style New Wave like New Order and Depeche Mode, but with a modern flair. If those names ring a bell, you've got a good idea of where they're coming from: melodic basslines, synth textures, and a certain danceable gloom that defined the era.
Social Order formed in Las Vegas in 2020 as a collaboration to combat isolation and generate purposeful creativity. Since then, they've evolved into a full band with a post-punk aesthetic and an anthemic sound that pulls from dark wave, electronic, synth pop, post-punk, and synth wave. It's a broad spread, but the common thread is that driving, synth-led energy.
