A family-friendly matinee performance of the Snow White ballet by Pacific Northwest Ballet School students, suitable for Pre-K through grade 6.
Pacific Northwest Ballet brings a student matinee of Snow White to McCaw Hall at the Seattle Center, running from March 27 through April 4, 2027. It's an hour-long, narrated version of Bruce Wells' choreography, with PNB School students on stage instead of the company's principal dancers. Wells, who also choreographed the company's Pinocchio and Beauty and the Beast, follows the classic characters as they discover the power of friendship. The production premiered on March 17, 2012, at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School and is staged as a gateway to classical dance, recommended for Pre-K through grade 6. The music is by Jules Massenet.
PNB frames these student matinees as tools for educators: they're designed to align with Washington State Arts Learning Standards in Dance and National Core Arts Standards, and often connect to English Language Arts curriculum through storytelling. Pre- or post-performance in-school workshops led by a PNB teaching artist are available, and the performance includes live captioning.
