Stand-up comedy show with Gus Heagerty at Laughs Comedy Club, an 18+ event with a two-item minimum menu purchase.
Gus Heagerty is playing Laughs Comedy Club on Sunday, October 11, from 7 PM to 9 PM. He's a New York-based comedian, actor, writer, and director who has built a following through the satirical observational videos he posts under the handle @gus.heagerty. He also recently recurred on the NBC series Stumble.
Heagerty's work has a strong theatrical side to it. As a director, his pieces have been staged at the Williamstown Theater Festival, Playwrights Horizons, HERE Arts Center, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He's also opened for Nick Kroll. The New Yorker described his performances as "miracles of detail," which gives you a sense of the kind of writing he brings to the stage.
He bills this particular show as a stand-up set about yearning to find yourself over and over again in culture and products, and it turns everyday observations into something absurdly sharp. If you've seen his videos, this is the live version of that same observational eye.
