A house, techno, bass music and electro-swing night presented by Nectar Lounge & Hidden Hall as part of the Cascadia NW Arts & Music Festival.
High Step Society and Willdabeast play Hidden Hall on Thursday, December 17, as part of the Cascadia Winter Solstice Weekender. The night is one of several that make up the weekender, which Nectar Lounge and Hidden Hall present as part of the Cascadia NW Arts & Music Festival. It's a three-night run spread across two venues—Nectar Lounge and Hidden Hall—with a program built around house, techno, bass music, and electro-swing.
High Step Society comes from Eugene, Oregon, and they're the electro-swing side of that lineup. They describe their sound as fusing the honeyed tones of the Jazz Age with the beat drops of the new millennium, and they build it around a shimmering horn section played over syncopated drums. The people on stage are musicians who also produce electronic music, so the live horns and the production come from the same room.
Willdabeast shares the bill, and together they fit into the broader festival's mix of house, techno, bass, and electro-swing. If you're coming for the swing, this is the night that leans into it.
