A darkwave and EBM night featuring Buzz Kull and Kontravoid, with support from Spike Hellis, Normal Bias and Total Chroma.
Buzz Kull and Kontravoid play El Corazon on Friday, October 9, with Spike Hellis, Normal Bias, and Total Chroma rounding out the bill. It's a five-act lineup, so you'll get a full night of music rather than just a couple of sets.
Buzz Kull is the solo project of Sydney-based musician and producer Marc Dwyer. He's been at it since 2012, blending darkwave, EBM, and synth pop into a dark, dissonant, danceable sound that draws on early industrial and post-punk traditions. His 2017 debut Chroma and 2018's New Kind of Cross were built on stripped-back production and minimal synth textures. 2022's Fascination, released via the Italian label Avant! Records, marked a turn toward harder, more precise dark dance, and 2026's Deep Hate is a four-song statement put out through Heartworm Press. Outside Buzz Kull, Dwyer is a frequent collaborator and remixer across the darker ends of electronic music and has toured widely, sharing stages with artists like Cold Cave, Boy Harsher, Kontravoid, and Spike Hellis—two of whom are on the bill here.

Kontravoid and Spike Hellis are both on the lineup, so this is a bit of a reunion of sorts for Dwyer and the artists he's toured with before. Normal Bias and Total Chroma add to the mix, making for a night that stays firmly in the darker, electronic side of things. The show starts at 8 PM at El Corazon, 109 Eastlake Ave. East, Seattle, WA 98109. The venue's general rule is 21+ for most shows, with a valid government-issued ID required and no re-entry once you're inside.
