Concert by the Toronto band Wine Lips, whose sound ranges across rock, garage, garage punk, psychedelic rock and punk.
Wine Lips play Soda Bar on Friday, October 23, their only San Diego date this fall. They're a band from Toronto, Canada, and the bill is just themβno opening act, just the four of them taking the stage.
If you're not familiar with them, the sound they've built is a bit of a wide net. They pull from rock, garage, garage punk, psychedelic rock, and punk, and they tend to let those styles run together rather than keeping them in separate lanes. The garage punk side brings the grit and the energy, the psychedelic rock adds the swirl and the space, and the punk keeps it moving. It's the kind of set that doesn't sit still for long.

Coming from Toronto, they're playing far from home, so this is one of the few chances to catch them in the city. The show starts at 7 PM at Soda Bar, 3615 El Cajon Blvd, in San Diego.
