San Diego rock-reggae band Tribal Seeds perform live at The Sound Del Mar, with support from Dubbest and Eureka Sound.
Tribal Seeds are playing The Sound on Thursday, December 31, 2026, with Dubbest and Eureka Sound opening. It's a New Year's Eve show presented by Belly Up Presents, and since it's for ages 18 and up, it's one of those nights that works as a party as much as a concert.
If you're not familiar with them, Tribal Seeds are a San Diego rock-reggae band formed in 2005 by the Jacobo brothers—singer Steven and keyboardist Tony-Ray. They've spent nearly two decades building a sound that looks toward Steel Pulse and Aswad rather than the more common touchstone of Sublime, which gives them a rootsier lean than a lot of the reggae-rock coming out of Southern California. Over those 19 years, they've released four full-length albums, two EPs, and a live album, all on their own label.
Their 2008 self-titled debut hit number one on the iTunes Reggae charts and won the San Diego Music Award for Best Reggae/World Album. In 2014, Representing cracked the Billboard 200 and featured guest spots from Don Carlos, Mykal Rose, and Midnite's Vaughn Benjamin. Two of their songs, "In Your Eyes" and "Dawn of Time," have more than 275 million combined plays, and the band has passed 1.3 billion streams in total.
