Traditional monthly POC artisan market with music, raffles, food, natural medicine, and local artisans, featuring art workshops and a community clinic.
Tianguis de la Raza returns to Centro Cultural de la Raza on Sunday, October 18, from 12 PM to 5 PM. It's the center's traditional monthly POC artisan market, and it runs every third Sunday of the month except for January and February. The market takes over the area immediately outside the center, including the small parking lot and the surrounding grass, so it's an outdoor affair.
At its core, the tianguis is a space that connects local crafters with community members, with the goal of promoting an autonomous economy and community building. It brings together artists and healers from across San Diego, and you'll find arts and crafts, natural self-care products, and home goods alongside live music, raffles, food, and natural medicine. There are activities for children, too, like art workshops, and a Community Clinic run by volunteers to help people stay healthy and stress-free. The organizers present it as much as a gathering place as a shopping event, with a focus on sharing, connecting, and supporting a thriving local economy.

If you've been before, you know the drill: it's a slow-paced afternoon where you can browse the tables, listen to the music, and hang out with people you might not otherwise run into. If you're new to it, it's a good way to find things made by local hands and meet some of the artists and healers who keep the city's creative scene going. It's free to attend, and it runs from 12 PM to 5 PM at Centro Cultural de la Raza, 2004 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101.
